The Cyber Resilience Centre for the West Midlands has joined forces with Cyber Risk Score to improve cyber resilience across the region, the UK and beyond.

Based in Birmingham, Cyber Risk Score is the World’s first affordable cyber security scoring tool for assessing companies, public sector organisations and their supply chains.

The Cyber Security Breaches Survey 2021 shows that 65% of medium businesses and 64% of large businesses report having cyber security breaches or attacks in the last 12 months. According to the Hiscox 2021 Cyber Report, “A small business in the UK is successfully hacked every 19 seconds”.

With cybercrime and supply chain hacking on the rise, every business and organisation must act not only to protect themselves but to also ensure the data they share with their suppliers is safe.

Companies and organisations need to improve their own cybersecurity as well as that of their supply chain. There are various cybersecurity solutions that help companies and organisations protect themselves but they are often beyond the budget of small and medium sized businesses. Yet it is these companies that hackers target.

With cybersecurity, no business or organisation is safe until every company they share information with is safe.

Cyber Risk Score could see a need for a cybersecurity benchmarking solution that:

  1. Gives every business and organisation an easily understood and affordable way to monitor and improve their own cybersecurity
  2. Allows every business and organisation to independently verify the cybersecurity of those they share data with such as their suppliers and clients
  3. Offers independent recommendations that can be implemented internally or by a chosen supplier

Cyber Risk Score was developed to meet these needs. It is just like a credit score for your organisation’s and your supply chains’ cybersecurity.

  • You get an easy to understand score out of 1,000
  • You get a report listing your vulnerabilities, how much they impact your score and recommendations
  • You receive your new score and report each month
  • You ask your suppliers to share their score with you

By raising awareness of cybersecurity and giving companies and organisation an affordable way to measure, monitor and manage cybersecurity internally and within their supply chains, data can be shared freely safe in the knowledge that it will be secure. This will lead to better decisions, increased efficiencies and improved productivity for the benefit of everyone- businesses, organisations and customers alike.

Richard Fallon, co-Founder of Cyber Risk Score said:

“We are delighted to be working closely with The Cyber Resilience Centre. We are both dedicated to improving cyber resilience within the region, the UK and across the world. Any supply chain is only as strong as its weakest link, so it is important that cyber resilience so it is improved globally. ”
