We’re delighted to welcome the Association of Network Managers in Education (the ANME) as the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre's latest Friend of the Centre.

The ANME is a networking group for Network Managers, IT Directors, and IT Technicians employed by UK schools, trusts, colleges, and universities.

Founded in 2014 and now with over 1,500 members, the ANME provides a professional support group for its members, offering face-to-face meetings and a private online portal allowing members to meet colleagues from other schools, share best-practice, and catch up with new developments.

The ANME is free for its members, and the meetings are free to attend. It is funded entirely by some incredibly supportive sponsors that understand the unique situations the members face daily.

You can join for free and become part of a dedicated community of colleagues from around the country.

  • On Thursday, November 9th, you can attend an event in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, and find out more about the ANME, what they do and how they might be able to help your business. Event details can be found here.

Founder and Director of the ANME, Rick Cowell, said on the appointment of Friend of the Centre:

"The ANME is delighted to become a Friend of the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre. This association embodies our commitment to promoting cyber resilience and security awareness within the education sector.
"Collaborating with the EMCRC, we look forward to enhancing our knowledge base, sharing best practices, and further equipping our members with the necessary tools to navigate the complexities of cyber security.
"Together, we are setting a standard for proactive cyber defence in education, ensuring that our institutions remain safe and secure in an increasingly digital world."

Colin Ellis, Managing Director and Police Delivery Lead at the EMCRC, added:

“The education sector continues to be vulnerable to cyber attacks. Organisations like the ANME are vital for knowledge sharing and driving up awareness within the sector.
It's great they recognise the value of association with us here at the CRC and within policing, and see the value of educational settings working with us."

Friends of the Centre are membership organsiations who want to help their members and community build their cyber resilience.

Our Friends organisations actively ask their members to join the EMCRC as they recognise that cyber resilience is an essential in today's digital world.

The ANME are another great addition to the EMCRC's Friends group, and it shows our ambition as a Centre that we wish to partner with outstanding businesses and organisations.

But our ambition doesn’t end there. We’re seeking the support of other distinguished businesses and motivational business leaders by joining us, not just as Friends of the Centre but also as Community Ambassadors, Community Members or Board members. We now have the scope for businesses to join us on various levels of affiliation.

If you would like to support our work and join our community, or feel you can bring equal skill, vision and ingenuity to the Centre in other areas, then please contact us via our website or contact Colin Ellis via his LinkedIn account.
