Government figures in the year to March 2021 found four in ten businesses and a quarter of UK charities had experienced cyber breaches in the previous year.
So, what has accelerated the risk of cyber crime?
As remote and hybrid working is likely to continue, challenges facing businesses’ security - including weak anti-virus software, insecure internet connection, and the use of platforms, such as Zoom, which can be hacked - are only set to increase.
As a team the NEBRC works with businesses across our region to manage business risk and crime through recognised cyber security practice. Established as part of a national network the NEBRC is a police-led, not for profit organisation, supporting sole traders to large organisations with training, free resources and various membership packages.
