The North East BRC is part of a national network of police led, not for profit organisations working alongside large, private sector companies and academia to provide cyber crime and fraud prevention advice to small and medium enterprises across the region.
Having made a significant impact since launching in 2019, the NEBRC is currently looking for representatives from a cross section of sectors and backgrounds to join the current Board in helping to steer and shape the organisation as it moves to its next stage. The NEBRC region stretches from the Humber up to the Tyne, and applications are especially welcome from leaders within this area.
Board members are expected to contribute financially on an annual basis but will receive access to local contacts and partners of the Centre including police, academia and centre members. The NEBRC brings much associated publicity in an initiative which is integral to the National Cyber Security Strategy and Board Members will have access to publicity features upon joining, networking opportunities with other Board members and working groups, along with an opportunity to influence at the highest level.
As a Board member you will attend four meetings per year, provide knowledge and advice to the NEBRC management team and promote cyber and fraud crime prevention throughout your organisation and supply chain. There is no liability attached to the position and much to gain with being involved in the first centre of its kind in England and Wales.
We are particularly eager to hear from anyone at corporate level within farming, manufacturing, large online retailing and education.
