The Eastern Cyber Resilience has just received confirmation that it is been granted Cyber Essentials certification.
Cyber Essentials is the baseline for any small or medium business (SME) to consider making sure that the data that it holds is kept safe from criminals. It will improve your reputation within your own business community and make it much less likely that you become victim of a cyber-attack itself.
The Centre has been working with one of our Trusted Partners - Starswift Information Security - over the past couple of weeks and with their help and guidance we got through the process itself quickly and efficiently.
Managing Director Detective Supt Paul Lopez said
‘We have been reviewing our processes, policies, and information security for a couple of months now; we all agreed that we should lead by example within the Cyber community and decided that we needed to get our certification as soon as we could. I would like to thank Starswift for their excellent work in getting us through the process almost hassle free!’
All new ECRC members are taken on a journey as part of the Little Steps Programme which prepares them for the certification process. You can learn more about Cyber Essentials on the ECRC website itself and if you want to go through full certification then we can recommend Trusted cyber security companies like Starswift, with whom we are affiliated.
Rob Lancaster at Starswift said
‘We are always happy to help businesses get through the Cyber Essentials Process, and most cases this this will only take a few days. Lots of companies already have the required controls in place to pass Cyber Essentials. It is a really important first step in protecting your business from hackers and cyber criminals and is becoming expected more and more by businesses in relation to contracts and tenders. Certification also offers free cyber insurance and incident response support, so if you do fall victim to an attack you’ll know where to turn to from the outset.’
The ECRC is a police-led, not for profit organisation which companies can join for free.
