In the rapidly evolving world of biometric access control, Freevolt Technologies, a UK-based technology company that develops next generation biometric smart card products for the access control, cryptocurrency, healthcare and payment sectors, has been working with Paxton Access and their long-standing IP networked access control system Net2.

As of this month, Freevolt’s S-Key biometric access control card, has been Paxton Certified and they are now recognised as an Approved Integration Partner.

The S-Key cards are batteryless and enable a person’s entry via fingerprint verification.

By tying access to an individual, even if they lose their card, or it gets stolen, you have peace of mind that it’s immediately useless to anyone else.

With the solution enrolling and storing biometric data only on the card (i.e. it never leaves the card), it makes GDPR and Privacy compliance much easier for businesses as a user’s biometric data is always in their hand/pocket.

The cards work on all NFC based contactless reader technology and is available in NXP MIFARE or LEGIC variants.

Gonzalo de Gisbert, Head of Product & Business Development, said: “It’s been a pleasure to work with Paxton over the last few months.

“Not only do they have a significant presence in the UK and European markets, but they’re also renowned for their fantastic customer support and service, which made it a logical choice for us given we’re all about simple, safe and secure access with S-Key.

“Our S-Key card works across their Net2 range and will be extended across the remainder of their product portfolio in the coming months.

“Following the integration, we’ve been inundated with enquiries from Paxton customers who are looking to add biometrics to their sites, which is what makes S-Key so compelling as they don’t have to change any of their existing installs.

“We look forward to strengthening the relationship with Paxton going forward and supporting their customers.”
