The third and final report from the public inquiry into the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017 is to be published later today.

Twenty-two people died and hundreds were injured in a suicide attack at the end of an Ariana Grande concert on May 22.

Chairman Sir John Saunders is expected to release his findings on whether 22-year-old Salman Abedi’s bombing mission could have been prevented by MI5 and counter-terrorism police.

Evidence into the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the atrocity was heard in the city over two years, ending in September 2022.

The report will focus on how Abedi was radicalised and his planning for the attack.

It is understood Abedi was a “subject of interest” (SOI) for the intelligence services three years before the Arena attack.
