Boon Edam has announced that its Circleslide curved sliding door is now available with RC3-rated night locking doors.
The addition of door reinforcement for the Circleslide further strengthens Boon Edam’s security offering and provides businesses with a wider range of security options for protection against burglary attempts, manual attacks, and vandalism.
The Circleslide was assessed and proven to comply with rigorous burglary resistance and manual attack requirements, conforming to the European Standard BS EN 1627:2011 for Burglar Resistance Class 3 (RC3).
This standard sets stringent requirements and classifications for burglar-resistant characteristics of revolving and sliding doors, including six classes of burglar resistance, ranked from Class RC1 to RC6. Each class determines the extent to which a door construction can resist attempts of forced entry when using a variety of tools and methods.
Graeme Firth, Managing Director at Boon Edam Limited said, “Achieving RC3 classification for the Circleslide is a fantastic result. It addresses the ever-growing demand for increased security in commercial and public buildings and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to meeting and exceeding industry standards for safety and security. It’s a crowd favourite here in the UK, so we are excited to share this news with our customers.”
The Circleslide is not the first product in Boon Edam’s portfolio to receive this classification. Door reinforcement packages, including RC2 and RC3-rated burglar protection, are also available for the Tourniket, Tourlock, Circlelock and Tournex models. Each product has met and exceeded the requirements and test methods for compliance to BS EN 1627:2011 and BS EN 356, the European Standard for Security Glazing.
The expansion of RC3-certified products in Boon Edam’s portfolio provides architects and specifiers with a wider range of enhanced security options, allowing them to find the right level of protection for their needs.
