BDI Security Solutions has been acquired by New Path Fire and Security; the deal was completed by southeast law firm, Moore Barlow.
Headquartered in Southampton, New Path Fire and Security is a group of fire safety and security companies which has been pursuing a rapid buy and build strategy since 2020. The purchase of BDI marked its 10th acquisition in this period and strengthens the group’s presence in Cambridgeshire.
BDI Security Solutions is a Cambridgeshire-based business, which specialises in providing bespoke security solutions to blue-chip industries and business parks, with clients in the manufacturing, pharmaceutical and tech sectors. Its areas of expertise include CCTV, barriers, gates, number plate recognition and access control.
Mark Pihlens, Director at New Path Fire & Security, said: “BDI Security Solutions’ specialisms are a perfect complement to those which we already have in the group, allowing us to provide an even more extensive offering to our growing customer base.”
“We’ve worked with Moore Barlow on numerous occasions and they’ve always managed the legal side of our deals exceptionally smoothly. In this instance, they helped us complete the deal at impressive speed – with the deal process taking just 10 weeks to complete – bringing an outstanding new partner into our group and enabling us to continue meeting our M&A and growth ambitions.”
Kirsty Leary, partner in the corporate team at Moore Barlow, said: “This deal demonstrates that there are plenty of good M&A opportunities available for like-minded partners, even in a challenging economic climate.
“It represents New Path continuing a well thought out buy and build strategy, which is allowing the company to grow quickly, sustainably and responsibly.”
New Path Fire and Security is spread across a range of locations in the Southeast. BDI is its second acquisition in the Cambridge area, after Swavesey-based Advanced Security Ltd in 2021.
The corporate team at Moore Barlow is one of the largest in the south of England. With offices in Guildford, Southampton, Lymington, Woking, Richmond and London, the team supports clients in London and along the M3 corridor, and the South Coast. Kirsty Leary is based in the firm’s Southampton office.
