SilverNet has launched its newest wireless security solution – the STREAM 60GHz Wireless Link, which is said to have a variety of benefits across a range of video and security installations, including town centres and ISPs.
Operating on the 60GHz band, customers can choose a Point to Point (PtP) or Point to Multipoint (PtMP) radio. In areas where 5GHz is having problems, or where there are issues with channel congestion, STREAM is said to open an opportunity for “smoother and extremely reliable infrastructure with virtually no chance of interference issues.”
Using oxygen as a cleaner for the frequency is understood to enable much easier channel reuse, and the extended frequency option of six or 12 available channels is unbeaten by other products.
Additionally, says SilverNet, the STREAM is two products in one: a 60GHz system and long-range link in the upper two channels. The SilverNet difference is that STREAM 60GHz radios fully support all six channels. ½ bandwidths are also supported so 12 channels are available for use. SilverNet also provides a link calculator to help show what can be expected for a given link and help model different scenarios related to rainfall.
STREAM radios work seamlessly with SilverNet PoE industrial switches and are fully integrated into their NMS SilverView, so users can monitor link quality and throughput plus more from one simple to use free application.
