It’s National Apprenticeship Week this week (5-11 February 2024) and ERA has appointed two new apprentices to its team as part of its commitment to providing learning opportunities for young talent within the local community.
“National Apprenticeship Week serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in talent and giving people the opportunity to gain experience, which Tyman is thrilled to be doing as part of our apprenticeship scheme,” said Stacey Edwards, HR Director, Tyman UK & Ireland.
“As one of the most established and recognised brands in the window and door industry, we are passionate about playing our part and recruiting the next generation into the sector.
“We are committed to fostering diversity and investing in the talent of the future and we’re delighted to see these talented apprentices working alongside our experienced and knowledgeable teams.”
Developed by Tyman UK & Ireland, the apprenticeship scheme welcomes Aaron Robinson, who joins as a Customer Support Engineer Apprentice.
He will be undertaking his Engineering Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship within the engineering team and will be assisting with customer visits and providing technical support and fit-ups for new products.
“I’ve already learnt so much at ERA so far and I’m really enjoying the different challenges each day brings.
“The training and support in the apprentice programme has really helped me to grow and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to start my career here,” said Robinson.
Ryan Hammond also joins the team as a Sustainability Apprentice.
He will be working towards his Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner Apprenticeship, working alongside Lara Coutinho, Tyman UK & Ireland’s Sustainability Programme Manager, to help the business achieve the milestones set out in its 2030 Sustainability Roadmap.
“I’m really enjoying learning about such an important topic at ERA and I’m looking forward to using the knowledge I’ve learnt to help implement sustainable practices within the business,” said Hammond.
Every apprentice within the scheme receives the opportunity to work alongside colleagues across Tyman UK & Ireland brands, including ERA, helping to develop their knowledge and expand their skillset.
Given the success of its apprenticeship programme, Tyman UK & Ireland will be developing the initiative further, with the aim of enhancing learning prospects and promoting continuous development within the company.
