The ECRC is excited to announce our newest Friends of the Centre, SaluteMyJob.

Our Friends of the Centre are organisations who feel passionate about promoting cyber resilience amongst their members and community. These organisations recognise that cyber resilience is an essential consideration in today’s digital world and promote the ECRC as a free support tool for their community to utilise. Friends support our work through raising awareness of our aims and objectives and direct their members to take advantage of the ECRC’s free membership and affordable services.

SaluteMyJob Ltd are the newest Friends of the Centre, and the ECRC are excited to have them join our community. SaluteMyJob Ltd proudly operates as a social enterprise committed to fostered stronger connections between ex-military individuals and supportive employers, bridging the gap between the unique skills and experiences of service personnel and the needs of various organisations. They collaborate with a whole host of employers, to provide resources, support and guidance tailored to service leavers and veteran job seekers, empowering them to unlock their full potential in civilian careers.

As part of their commitment to addressing the UK’s cyber skills shortage, they have joined forces with IBM and Abertay University, to deliver Nominet’s grant-funded Click Start programme. This initiative runs until March 2025, and provides free and fully remote cybersecurity training in Penetration Testing, Artificial Intelligence, and Governance and Policy in a cyber context. Successful graduates of the programme are equipped with knowledge to complement their existing transferable skills, which can then be harnessed by SaluteMyJob’s Employer Partners, facilitating a sustainable talent pipeline into their businesses, whilst offering significant cost savings.

On joining the ECRC as a Friend of the Centre, Harry Joseph, Click Start Pathways Programme Manager from SaluteMyJob commented,

“SalutemyJob are delighted to join the ECRC as a Friend of the Centre, and to build a partnership in supporting the development of experience opportunities and employment of the Armed Forces Community into cyber roles. Military personnel are trained to be well-rounded leaders, proficient in communication with intrinsic critical thinking skills. Through training and experience, often under extreme pressure in unique environments, they have an abundance of unique, cross-functional soft-skills making them well-equipped to fulfil a range of roles within cybersecurity and to fill employers' digital skills gaps.”

Choosing the foster a relationship with the ECRC is another commitment to addressing the cyber skills shortage and the ECRC look forward to working with them to provide opportunities for veterans to find meaningful work within our network as either Police Cyber volunteers, or within paid employment.
