Over the last couple of months, we have been meeting some of our community ambassadors to understand more about why they signed up to the programme and what benefits it brings, not only for themselves but also the wider business community they operate in.

The WCRC now has over 3,000 individual Welsh businesses and organisations that are members, which is a significant achievement. And, thanks to the support of the committed community ambassador partnerships, the centre is able to continue and strengthen its campaign to raise awareness of how to collectively secure a safer economic landscape for Wales.

Director of the WCRC, Paul Peters says, “Hitting this significant membership milestone is something we’re really proud of and is certainly demonstrative of the hard work that has been put in to driving awareness and encouraging positive action for improving organisations’ cyber posture across Wales. Our community ambassador network has been hugely impactful in assisting us in our engagement with the Welsh business community and reinforcing the cyber resilience message even further.”

CORASSURE, a community ambassador member, is a distinguished organisation comprising world-class consultants specialising in software, hardware, and cyber security. They offer subject matter expertise along with advice, teaching, guidance, and independent assurance for the development and certification of military and civilian vehicles across land, maritime, and aviation domains.

Here we meet CORASSURE’s Director Mr Daniel Locke and put our questions to him:

What prompted you to become a community ambassador member?

For me, it is important to share my knowledge of cyber security, especially in the aviation industry within Wales. Becoming a community ambassador felt like the right step to take.

What benefits have you experienced since joining as a WCRC community ambassador?

Being an ambassador allows my company to display the Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales logo on my emails and on my website, which shows that we, as a company, are committed to supporting the Welsh economy from a cyber security perspective. For me that adds a huge amount of community value to my business.

What does your organisation bring to the community ambassador role?

As a cyber security firm, we are constantly evolving and improving our cyber security understanding, that is our role and by doing so, we are able to bring our unique insight to the community ambassador role in supporting the centre and the work it does with businesses across Wales.

In your own words why would you recommend joining the WCRC as a community ambassador.

Joining the WCRC as a community ambassador offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact to the Welsh community. As a member you can help bridge the gap between the centre and the community, ensuring that local voices are heard, and needs are met from a cyber security perspective. It provides a platform to develop leadership skills, network with like-minded individuals, and contribute to initiatives that promote positive change in the world of cyber security.
