We are delighted to introduce Simon Holden as the newest Advisory Group member at the WMCRC. Simon is a dedicated cyber security expert committed to making cyber security affordable and accessible for organisations in the Education and Charities sectors, particularly in the West Midlands.

Before founding CyBur Ltd, Simon served as Director of Operations in two independent schools and spent 21 years as an Army Officer. His experience in developing and implementing cyber security strategies led him to establish CyBur Ltd with a mission to support schools, charities, and small businesses in building strong cyber security postures. Simon’s innovative approach disrupts conventional thinking, empowering organisations with affordable and accessible solutions to achieve cyber resilience.

‌Outside of work, Simon volunteers as a Trustee and Committee Chair for a Multi Academy Trust, a school Governor, a Parish Councillor, and a mentor. He is passionate about raising cyber security awareness and advocating for a coordinated, whole-business approach to cyber strategy within the West Midlands’ education and charity sectors.

‌On joining the WMCRC, Simon said:

“I’m honoured to join such an inspiring group of professionals, and I look forward to working together to strengthen the Cyber Security Ecosystem in the West Midlands.”

Michelle Ohren, Director of WMCRC, said:

“We’re so pleased to have Simon on board. He has a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to enhancing cyber security within our key sectors. His expertise will be invaluable in advancing our mission to create a secure and resilient cyber environment for organisations across the West Midlands.”
