The South East Cyber Resilience Centre is thrilled to introduce Howden Insurance to its growing group of associate members.

Howden is part of global insurance group Howden, and is one of the largest specialist insurance brokers in the UK. Their unique high street branch network currently has over 200 branches and centres, supports clients in communities across the country.

Their comprehensive portfolio encompasses personal, business, corporate, rural, private client and niche insurance brokerage, supporting the traditional to the extraordinary. Known for exceptional customer service, Howden is rated 4.8/5 on Trustpilot across over 50,000 client reviews.

On joining the SECRC, Marvin Hatchwell, Commercial Manager at Howden’s Oxford branch said:

“I, and the wider Howden team, are delighted to be partnering with SECRC and to be working jointly in making businesses better aware of the cyber threat. At Howden, we’re all about the specialist insurance advice we give our clients via our local branch network and being an all-year-round point of contact in relation to their business risks. On that basis the SECRC resources will be invaluable in helping to protect our existing and prospective clients.”

Commenting on Howden joining the SECRC, Detective Inspector Chris White, Head of Cyber and Innovation at The South East Cyber Resilience Centre said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Howden Insurance to our growing group of Associate Members who work with the SECRC to highlight the risk that cybercrime poses to businesses in the South East.

“Securing your business against cyber threats is as important as insuring your business against theft and fire damage. The latest Cyber Security Breaches Survey found that around four in ten businesses (43%) and a third of charities (34%) reported being insured against cyber security risks. This highlights that less than half of UK businesses are insured against one of the biggest threats currently facing UK organisations.

“Working with Howden', I hope that we can help educate their network of clients to become aware of the tools and solutions available to help them safeguard themselves against cyber-crime”
