The South West Cyber Resilience Centre (SWCRC) is thrilled to announce its involvement in three innovative Cyber Local projects designed to enhance the cybersecurity skills and resilience of businesses, individuals, and communities across the region. These initiatives, funded by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT) as part of the UK Government’s Plan for Change, aim to tackle critical challenges in cybersecurity while fostering collaboration and growth in the South West.
Empowering Small Businesses with CyberSecurityAId
Small businesses are increasingly targeted by cyber criminals, yet many lack the resources or expertise to protect themselves effectively. To address this, the SWCRC is collaborating with Essex University to deliver CyberSecurityAId. This project will provide small businesses with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate today’s complex cyber threat landscape. By empowering small business owners and their teams with practical cybersecurity skills, this initiative will play a vital role in reducing vulnerabilities and fostering confidence in the digital space.
Driving Inclusion with TECwomen CIC – CyberUPLIFT
Diversity in the tech sector is vital for fostering innovation and resilience. In partnership with TECwomen CIC, the CyberUPLIFT project focuses on empowering underrepresented groups in technology by providing hands-on support to enhance their cybersecurity skills. This initiative aims to create opportunities for women and other underrepresented individuals, equipping them with the tools to thrive in the cybersecurity field. By addressing the skills gap and encouraging diversity, CyberUPLIFT is paving the way for a more inclusive and secure future.
Improving Cyber Resilience in Adult Social Care - Digital Care Hub C.I.C
The adult social care sector is an essential service that handles vast amounts of sensitive data, making it a prime target for cyber attacks. In collaboration with Digital Care Hub C.I.C, the SWCRC is launching a project focused on improving the cybersecurity resilience of adult social care providers in the South West. This initiative aims to safeguard critical services and protect sensitive information, ensuring that care providers can continue to deliver vital support to vulnerable individuals without disruption.
These projects highlight the importance of collaboration in strengthening cybersecurity across sectors and communities. By working with partners such as Essex University, TECwomen CIC, and Digital Care Hub C.I.C, the SWCRC is bringing together expertise and resources to deliver targeted solutions that address specific needs in the South West.
As cyber threats continue to evolve, initiatives like these are critical for ensuring that businesses, communities, and individuals are equipped to respond effectively. The SWCRC is proud to play a role in delivering these projects, contributing to the UK Government’s broader plan to bolster cyber defences and build a more secure digital future.
