The Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales’ Cyber Essentials Partners are a group of IASME-certified organisations whom we are able to recommend and have been accredited by the UK national accreditation body, IASME, to provide accredited certification towards Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.

Morgan & Morgan is a leading B2B business and technology partner, helping small organisations with IT and telecoms, cyber security, document solutions office products and office interiors and is also one our nine Cyber Essentials Partners.

As part of our Meet the Team series, we put a number of questions to Simon Roberts, Director of Technical Solutions and Sales at Morgan & Morgan to understand more about what he does and the current cyber security landscape for small businesses.

1. Can you tell us about your role with Morgan & Morgan?

I am a cyber security specialist and assessor, helping businesses strengthen their security posture. My role involves assessing risks, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. I focus on educating organisations about cyber threats and helping them build resilience against attacks.

2. What is a key lesson you’ve gained from your career experiences?

One key lesson is that cyber security is not just about technology—it’s about people. The best security measures can fail if employees are not aware of the risks. Continuous education and a strong security culture are just as important as technical defences.

3. Do you have a go-to cyber security tip?

Yes—always enable multi-factor authentication (MFA) on all accounts. Passwords alone are not enough to protect against cyber threats. MFA adds an extra layer of security, making it significantly harder for attackers to gain access to your accounts.

4. What would you say to business owners that don’t see cyber security as a priority?

Cyber security is not just an IT issue—it’s a business issue. A cyber-attack can lead to financial losses, reputational damage, and legal consequences. Prevention is far cheaper than dealing with a breach. Investing in cyber security now can save your business in the long run.

5. What's your favourite Welsh dish?

It has to be cawl—a traditional Welsh stew made with lamb or beef, leeks, potatoes, and other root vegetables. It’s hearty, comforting, and a great representation of Welsh cuisine.
