Esk Glazing + Interiors is one of the latest companies to join Secured by Design (SBD), the official police security initiative.

Esk Glazing + Interiors has expanded past the domain of its original products introducing complete kitchens, bathrooms and bedroom solutions in its showrooms.

Esk Glazing + Interior in the last year have opened up a trade centre for professionals and adapting to the the surge in DIY enthusiasts, showcasing a range of products from windows and doors to balustrades, kitchens and bathrooms.

Kenny McHugh, Development Officer, Police Crime Prevention Initiatives, said: “I’m really pleased that Esk Glazing have chosen to join Secured by Design.

“They have an Inliten PVC-u door system, an Inliten composite door system along with an Inliten PVC-u window system accredited with Secured by Design.  

“I look forward to developing the relationship with Esk Glazing and SBD over the coming years,” McHugh finalised.

SBD seeks to improve physical security

SBD is owned by the UK Police Service with the specific aim of reducing crime and increasing safety for businesses and individuals.

SBD seeks to improve the physical security of buildings and the surrounding area using products such as doors, windows, locks and walling systems along with fencing systems that meet the SBD Police Preferred Specification security requirements.

SBD for all

SBD has partnered with many organisations, ranging from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government through to local authorities, housing associations, developers and manufacturers.

SBD works with manufacturers and standards authorities to ensure that security standards are current and up-to-date to ensure they are aware and ready to respond to emerging crime trends.

The only way for companies to obtain police recognition for security-related products in the UK is via SBD.

Through the utilisation of Police Preferred Specification, partners are provided with a recognised standard for all security products that effectively deter and reduce crime.
