Atlas Security has partnered with Brookfield Properties and Launch Group to help the long-term unemployment of individuals re-entering the workforce.
A two-week programme combined classroom-based learning from Launch Group and on-the-ground experience working with suppliers across Brookfield Properties’ London portfolio, which includes 99 Bishopsgate.
As one of Brookfield Properties’ key supply chain partners, Atlas Security played a hands-on role in mentoring, guiding and ultimately hiring from the course participants.
This initiative has culminated in one female participant being offered a permanent security officer position at 99 Bishopsgate.
Gary Stanton, Managing Director, Atlas Security said: “Atlas Security was overjoyed to participate in the Brookfield Properties and Launch Group programme, which perfectly aligned with our social value objectives.
“Partnering with our fantastic client, Brookfield Properties, allowed us to showcase the incredible value of our collaboration.
“We were truly inspired by the participants’ enthusiasm and the professionalism of the Launch Group and their facilitators.
“The crowning achievement was being able to offer full-time employment to an individual in the programme, thereby enhancing our security team at 99 Bishopsgate with a dedicated and talented new member.”
Nikki, a newly hired officer, was one of 12 individuals selected from the long-term unemployment programme.
The wider programme saw seven out of the 12 participants receive job offers – with some perspective employees allegedly receiving multiple offers, including one candidate who was presented with three opportunities.
The partnership between Atlas Security, Brookfield Properties and Launch Group focused on supporting people who have historically faced barriers to employment including: Older workers; individuals without formal education or UK work experience and those simply struggling to get a foot in the door.
Dana Ferens, Senior Associate Operations, Brookfield Properties UK said: “Even if we had helped just one person into work, it would have been worth it.
“That we were able to support so many people into roles—is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“We are grateful to Atlas Security and our other partners for supporting us with this important and highly worthwhile initiative.”
Atlas Security is now working with Brookfield Properties to plan for future intakes, with the next programme scheduled for later in 2025.
Atlas Security aims to offer more work experience placements across its sites and continue its plan to tackle long-term unemployment through meaningful opportunities.
