Kevin Waterhouse, Managing Director, VCA explores how the company will continue to grow and innovate.

How was The Security Event?

It was a fantastic opportunity to come together to connect, share ideas and explore what’s next in the industry.

It reinforced how collaboration is key to building solutions that truly make a difference.

We were lucky to present throughout different stands, including our integration partners at Digifort Global and Network Optix.

These stands were principally geared around showcasing the benefits of our integration, with VCA‘s analytics available seamlessly through respective platforms.

Network Optix offers both server-based and camera-based integrations.

Our partnerships with UK distributor Nimans Security continues to strengthen and we were proud to showcase this relationship and highlight our latest analytic solutions for Safety, Security and Loss Prevention to many of their leading customers at the show.

The conversations were insightful and we’re excited to keep them going – especially around which of our solutions could best support businesses needs moving forward. Bring on TSE26!

Can you tell me about the solutions VCA provides?

We remain focussed on delivering intelligent video analytics that solve real-world problems.

For retailers, it means providing the tools to combat the current epidemic in shoplifting through powerful AI-driven solutions like real-time alerts, behaviour analysis and forensic search.

Our technology provides insights into customer flow and store performance, helping to drive both security and efficiency.

Seamlessly integrating with existing systems, VCA supports smarter decision-making without costly overhauls.

With over four million channels deployed globally, we remain committed to innovation that protects and empowers.

How does VCA embody and embrace innovation?

We treat innovation as an ongoing conversation.

Rather than chasing trends, we focus on creating tools that support better decisions, stronger outcomes and smarter video use.

Whether it’s enhancing security, streamlining operations or making data easier to interpret, every update is driven by feedback and real application.

Our approach is flexible, fast-moving and grounded in delivering value where it counts.

By listening first and building with purpose, we make sure our technology continues to proactively evolve.

How is VCA a leader in the field of video analytics?

We’ve been at the forefront of video analytics for almost two decades, combining deep technical expertise with a clear understanding of real-world demands.

What sets us apart is our commitment to accuracy, scalability and ease of integration – delivering powerful analytics that work straight out of the box.

Our technology is trusted globally, from transport hubs to city surveillance and logistics, where reliability and real-time insights are critical.

By continuously refining our solutions and listening to the people who use them, we stay ahead – transforming video into a viable tool for both protection and performance.

What new developments are on the horizon for VCA?

A key area of focus is continuing to make existing security systems more accurate and reliable by adding our analytics to existing security installations, quite often using our mini AI bridge unit to add AI analytic features for up to 12 channels of video.

We’re advancing several solution-led developments. In retail, alongside loss prevention strategies for staff safety, our analytics support features like aggressive behaviour monitoring, ‘man down’ alerts and hands-up duress detection.

We’re developing tools for health and safety compliance, including PPE recognition and forklift speed control.

Our roadmap includes solutions for EV charging station security and operations, traffic management and vehicle monitoring (supported by our new technology partnership with Vaxtor) and warehouse logistics through QR/OCR code reading.

We’re expanding our capabilities in waste management, with systems designed to detect and enforce against fly-tipping.

Every development is rooted in real operational demand. These aren’t just tech projects – they’re responses to real needs and that’s what’s driving our roadmap forward.
