DeterTech has partnered with Brentford FC Community Sports Trust to host an engaging, educational crime‑prevention session at Gunnersbury Park.
Reportedly over 60 young people took part in an interactive session on crime deterrence and forensic marking, gaining valuable insights into how technology can help protect people and communities.
The community engagement follows DeterTech’s partnership with Brentford FC as its official site security partner, which was announced in April 2025.
As part of Brentford FC’s sports crime prevention programme, DeterTech taught individuals about SmartWater, a forensic marking technology that is said to deter thieves and aid in criminal investigation.
Each attendee reportedly left with their own SmarWater forensics marking kit that they can use to mark their own belongings, such as their mobile phone.
Jared Fairlie, National Business Development Manager, DeterTech said: “Our purpose at DeterTech is to bring greater peace of mind to people and communities, every day.
“Sessions like this create a structured environment for kids to come down and hang out with their friends and gives them a safe space to do so throughout the school year and summer holidays.
“Engaging directly with the community also helps us better understand local concerns and tailor our solutions to meet real needs.
“It’s been a fantastic experience working with the Football Club and the Trust and seeing the positive impact first-hand.
“Being able to speak directly to the community at these events helps us to understand the issues there are and then we can use this information to actually build upon how we can help make those communities safer.
“It’s been fantastic working with the Football Club and Community Sports Trust to engage with the community and seeing how much everyone has enjoyed it.”
Adam Ward, Head of Partnership Services, Brentford FC said: “We’re fortunate to have the support of our partner, DeterTech who shared their knowledge on crime prevention with young participants at this event.
“DeterTech have been keen to engage with the community and help build a safer community.
“As a result of their expertise, our participants will be more aware of how criminals and theft can be deterred.
“We’re grateful for their involvement and our colleagues at the Trust for organising the event.”
