CERES TAG has been awarded a Secured by Design (SBD) Secure Connected Device (SCD) accreditation.
This endorsement reportedly recognises Internet of Things (IoT) products that have achieved the appropriate and relevant IoT standards and certification, meaning stringent steps have been taken to protect consumers and reduce vulnerability to cyber security attacks.
In achieving SCD accreditation, CERES TAG reportedly reinforces its commitment to safeguarding data, livestock and critical assets in rural and remote operations across agriculture, biosecurity, law enforcement and conservation.
Both the RANCH and RANCHER products reportedly underwent rigorous independent IoT testing and design evaluation to meet the criteria required for SCD accreditation, as well as the IASME IoT Cyber Assurance Level 2 certification.
Secured by Design aims to reduce both the risk and fear of crime through intelligent design and stringent product standards.
CERES TAG’s satellite-enabled devices are said to deliver real-time data on animal movement, behaviour and environmental conditions, without the need for on-ground infrastructure.
While the technology is widely recognised for advancing herd health and management, it has also become a powerful deterrent against livestock theft.
By identifying unusual animal activity and supporting faster response, CERES TAG provides a new layer of security and peace of mind for producers managing valuable livestock in rural and remote operations.
David Smith, Founder and CEO, CERES TAG commented: “Earning Secured by Design SCD accreditation reflects the strength and reliability of our system and our commitment to delivering high-quality, secure solutions to producers around the world.
“We know that livestock are among the most valuable assets in rural operations.
“This recognition confirms that our technology is also one of the strongest defences available to protect them.”
As livestock theft and rural crime become more sophisticated, tools like CERES TAG‘s are said to offer critical peace of mind.
The accreditation reportedly strengthens the company’s reputation with producers, law enforcement and rural institutions by validating the reliability and preventative power of the system.
Smith added: “Our goal has always been to deliver timely, trustworthy insights that empower producers and safeguard their operations.
“This accreditation confirms that we are delivering on that commitment.”
