Hanwha Vision has introduced the Audio Beacon, SPS-A100M, an AI-powered audio surveillance solution that is said to ensure users can be alerted and respond rapidly to critical situations.
Equipped with a powerful 90dB speaker, five integrated microphones and intelligent sound classification, the Audio Beacon is reportedly engineered to enhance situational awareness and real-time communication.
From schools, offices and hospitals to restricted areas where cameras may not be an option, the Audio Beacon is said to enable immediate awareness through high-volume alerts and full-duplex two-way audio, supporting rapid decision-making and direct communication with on-site individuals.
As well as functioning as a deterrent, the LED ring reportedly provides a visible and reassuring confirmation that an alert has been triggered, signaling that the situation has been detected and that assistance is on the way.
The Audio Beacon, according to the company, incorporates powerful AI-based sound classification to elevate real-time situational awareness.
It can reportedly detect specific predefined sounds – such as screams or breaking glass – using deep-learning AI.
In addition, direction-finding algorithms are reportedly able to support users to detect the direction of events.
These capabilities are said to enhance situational awareness in complex environments, helping to quickly identify and respond to critical events.
Hanwha Vision has articulated that a clear, high-output speaker and noise-reducing microphone system enables effective communication even in loud environments.
Whether used to broadcast warnings, speak directly to intruders or respond during emergencies, the SPS-A100M reportedly adds an intelligent, interactive layer to security infrastructure.
Furthermore, the LED ring, according to Hanwha Vision, enhances visibility of alerts in any lighting condition, to provide staff and on-site individuals with a clear visual signal in real time.
The company has reported that the feature has customisable colours and patterns to signal different types of events.
The Audio Beacon reportedly supports full integration with key VMS platforms like Genetec, Milestone and Wisenet WAVE, and communicates across smart building systems using the MQTT protocol.
The Audio Beacon is also said to support Boolean event logic and delivers alerts via FTP, email, HTTP/S and more.
Hanwha Vision has reported that with FIPS 140-3 Level 3 certification, secure boot, encrypted firmware and a tamper-detection switch, the device ensures maximum data protection and reliability.
