FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
London, November 2026. Cynic Studios, the games and media division of Cynic Ventures, today announced the worldwide release of Abs Coin Run on the Apple App Store and Google Play, in what industry observers are calling “a bold move” and “genuinely baffling”.
Abs Coin Run stars Abs, a wheelchair user who zips around the city collecting coins, hitting speed boosts and outrunning the clock. It is one of a small number of planned mobile games for the ventue.
“Representation matters,” said Javvad Malik, founder of Cynic Studios and, more importantly, Abs’s dad. “Every kid deserves to press play and see someone like them winning. My son is the main character in his own life, so it seemed reasonable he should be the main character in a game too.”
The game features three modes (Classic, Time Trial and Explore), power-ups including a coin magnet and time freeze, and controls designed like a real power-chair joystick.
In a move that has left the board of Cynic Ventures visibly confused, Abs Coin Run contains:
“We presented the monetisation strategy to our investors,” Malik continued. “There were a lot of questions. We answered them all with ‘it’s for my son’. They have since requested a second meeting. We have not scheduled it.”
When asked about projected revenue, a Cynic Ventures spokesperson described it as “emotionally significant, financially zero” and declined to elaborate.
More cities, moon, worlds and possibly mini adventures are planned for future updates. The business plan remains under review.
Cynic Studios makes games and videos that put under-represented heroes front and centre. It is a division of Cynic Ventures, which backs ideas it has already questioned.
