Recently I was lucky enough to hold an interview with The Syrian Electronic Army (SEA). A Syria based pro-Assad hacktivist group. Most commonly known for spear phishing attacks against some of the west's biggest media outlets. I won't be editing the answers in anyway, shape or form. This is the SEA words in raw format. I'd like to thank SEA for agreeing to be interviewed.

Question 1: how come you guys (SEA) decided to protest by hacking?

Answer: 1) The SEA mechanism of action not just hacking websites/pages, we have account on all social media sites on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram so the people can join us in spreading the truth about Syria, reporting a page that keep publishing false/fabricated news about Syria.

Question 2: is anyone safe? Is there a particular country/company (except Syria) that you guys won't target? Seems anyone is a target.

Answer: 2) Our targets are known, Every media outlets who keep publishing false news about Syria, every country support the terrorists in Syria is a target.

Question 3: what's your feelings when people claim that your group is government sponsored? (A sense of pride that you're so efficient you should be paid?)

Answer: 3) Our work doesn't need funding, it just need Computer and Internet connection.

Question 4: How do you feel about the American military? Is you "war" so to speak with Obama or is it with the entire American military?

Answer:4) We are in war with everyone who supports Obama's government.

Question 5: Compared with you recent hacks how do these scale from 1-10 on your ability scale? 10 been the best hack your group is capable of and 1 been almost a no brainer.

Answer:5) The Twitter,NYTimes,HuffingtonPost was 6/10, AP hack was 5/10.

Question 6: how does this all end? Is there a end? Looking through my eyes Assad doesn't want/need to step down neither does the FSA. Is this just a war till one side has no resources left?

Answer:6) Everything had an end, who be steadfast until the end will win.

Question 7: should motherboard,Brian krebs and other writers who published what they claim to be your members personal details remove these articles? Why?

Answer: 7) Yes, because all the names/pictures that's been published it's for innocent people and not associated even they are not a members of SEA, and publishing their names will make them targets for FSA/Jabhet Alnusra terrorists,
Anyway they removed some names and pictures after they found it that our words was right but it was too late.

Question 8: now that the UK has voted against military action in Syria is the UK off "the hit list" or is the UK still considered a target?

Answer:8) As long the UK is not involved in the "coming strike", it's off of the hit list.

Question 9: the majority of people who have twitter know exactly who you guys are ( trending world wide several times) so we're all pretty familiar with how you complete these hacks. Is the SEA purely a phishing team or are you spread into other areas? Malware, botnets, web application hacking for example.

Answer:  9) We have too many methods to use, phishing is the simplest method we have, anyway when we use it, we use very sophisticated phishing attack.

Question 10: If America does launch military strikes on Syria what kind of attacks can we expect to see? Will the magnitude and quantity rise significantly or will the attacks become more targeted? For example, attacking government officials instead of media outlets.

Answer: 10) We have a bank of targets and many surprises, that's what we can say.

What's your final statement? what's the end goal? What do you want Syria to be like in the future?

Our main goal is to spread the truth about Syria and what is really happening in Syria, we hope that our country will be a country for peace not a place for terrorists and hearts eaters.
