The Big Ugly has joined Secured by Design, with three of its containers having achieved the Police Preferred Specification for their security attributes.
After spending over 25 years working in the construction industry, The Big Ugly was founded with a clear goal in mind: to tackle the widespread problem of thefts of tools from various locations, including sites, workshops, vans, and garages.
The Big Ugly now provides an answer to site security and keeping tools safe, with its range of free standing, key operated steel tool vaults, tested to STS BR5.
Managing Director Steve Holmes of The Big Ugly said: “We are very happy to be a member of SBD. Our goal was to make the most effective tool vault on the market to minimise tool/machinery theft. The loss of any personal belonging let alone the essential tools used for individual contractors to earn their living, is devastating and must be stopped – the Big Ugly Box will do just that, not only securing tools it will give peace of mind to whoever has one changing the views on tool theft altogether”.
Doug Skins, Secured by Design, said: “I am delighted that The Big Ugly have decided to become members of Secured by Design and look forward to a successful association over the coming years. We know the impact of rural crime on our communities and products like those provided by The Big Ugly are a welcome addition to the SBD portfolio and will make life harder for these criminals, as our rural communities have enough daily challenges without losing essential tools and machinery to thieves.
“We know that plant equipment and tools on construction sites are often an attractive target for criminals, as they are of high value when selling on, so these high security containers will also be of use in that environment too”.
