Cambridge Pixel has collaborated with OpenWorks Engineering to deliver counter-drone solutions to Police forces in Europe.

The partnership will provide multiple police forces with C-UAS capabilities.

Cambridge Pixel’s radar processing software and system engineering expertise is set to deliver tailored counter-drone systems that meet the operational needs of multiple European police forces.

Openwork Engineering will be implementing its optical tracking system – Vision Flex to assist the collaboration for the counter-drone solutions.

Police forces receive reliable and rapid software

As the threat from uncrewed aerial systems (UAS) reportedly continues to evolve, law enforcement agencies across Europe are seeking integrated solutions capable of detecting, tracking and enabling forces to take appropriate action.

By combining radar data with high-precision AI-powered optical tracking, the joint solution is set to provide reliable situational awareness and rapid threat assessment in both urban and rural environments.

Cambridge Pixel’s software, which supports most modern C-UAS radars, is said to play a central role in the integrated system.

The software enables multi-sensor data fusion, target tracking and intelligent alerting.

OpenWork’s optical system technology and AI is said to ensure precise visual identification and tracking of UAS threats.

Tailoring to “law enforcement agencies”

David Johnson, Director, Cambridge Pixel said: “Our collaboration with OpenWorks Engineering brings together best-in-class sensor technology and software expertise.

“This partnership allows us to offer scalable, field-proven solutions tailored to the complex requirements of law enforcement agencies operating in diverse scenarios.”

The integrated system has already undergone successful demonstrations and is being adapted to meet specific procurement and operational criteria set by police units in several European countries.

The solution’s modular architecture ensures that it can be configured to suit fixed installations, mobile deployments or rapid-response teams.

Addressing “real-world security challenges”

Chris Down, Chief Executive Officer, OpenWorks Engineering added: “Combining our advanced camera technology with Cambridge Pixel’s radar processing delivers a powerful counter-UAS capability.

“It’s a great example of UK engineering companies working together to address real-world security challenges.”

This partnership reflects a growing demand, with many other law enforcement and public safety agencies showing interest in acquiring this interoperable, adaptable counter-drone solution.
